Now that you have content in the bag,
how do you get visitors to your site?
1 Filter down your marketing options to a viable few and work out a plan of action. Educate yourself by scouring the web for information on marketing trends; subscribe to emarketing news and participate in forums to gain insights.
2 Budget for each step and commit to making it work for your site. Be realistic and adapt your plan to current needs as you develop your web presence.
3 Don't forget to keep the product (your web content) fresh and baity. There's no point getting visitors to your site only to turn them away - instead empower them to market for you!
But first we need to settle one myth and then some ...
The good news is you don't need to be obsessed with Google.
Think of Google as a precision timepiece, a clock. All clocks show only an approximation of the time no matter how precise their moving parts but when the error is reduced to trillionths of a second, it is hardly noticeable which gives the impression that it's the moving parts that dictate accuracy.
Whatever the algorithms, search engine results will always remain an approximation of what the user seeks whether or not websites indexed by Google are perfect or not in SEO terms. So instead of trying to perfect your site for search engines, time may be better spent creating valuable content and getting the word out through the social grapevine. A noticeable side effect of this creative effort is your site's improved performance in searches ;)
