What's in a logo?

A picture is said to paint a thousand words. Now imagine that picture reduced to an icon - you will need a great logo to make that icon speak. And speak volumes it will if your logo leaves its mark long after the ink has dried and pages of content lapsed into archives.

This is not to undermine the written word but it's much easier to focus on a graphic and move it to memory than it is to cache lines and lines of text (a logo is more noticeable than a page of text). In ibranding terms, your entire site should bear some relation with what the logo resonates - you can do this creatively through color themes (skins), menu buttons, icons, etc., all set to give your site a familiarity that can only breed repeat custom!

The logos on this page are some of our creations. Logo creation is a process that begins with an understanding of what it should stand for, a clear perception of the elements that sum up that understanding ... it is in essence a creative invocation of that perception. Add originality to the energy pool and you've got yourself a logo. That's how we do it. Anyone needs a logo?

Next on the ibranding 'to do' list is how to word your web content - copywriting for the web requires SEO (search engine optimization) skills besides having a flair for the language.
